About

Cross SmallThe goal of this project is to build a software and training package for missionaries and pastors. Missions are often run on a limited budget. So they don’t have a lot of extra money to spend on expensive publishing software.
Furthermore, many of the current publishing packages available are very complex, which can be very daunting to beginners and experts alike.

This project is an attempt to alleviate both of the above problems using free software and volunteer written training and tutorial materials.

When complete, we hope to have a training and distribution package that uses nothing but free software and teaches missionaries and pastors how to create prayer letters, bulletins, directories and presentations.

We also hope to teach basic image editing and evaluate and recommend a list of cheap digital cameras that could be used as part of the package.

Publishing and news in this day and age, is very Internet dependent. So a list of of online resources and some training (if they have local Internet access) in how to set up and run a blog (which would be basically just an online prayer letter) is almost a must. So that will be included as well.

The plan being that we will use the computer and publishing expertise of myself and various volunteers to build an entire resource package for publishing that would be very low cost or free for the missionary.

Resource packages like this exist for teachers and various other non profit or volunteer organizations, but so far there doesn’t seem to be any package like this for missionaries. So we hope to be able to fill a need that has so far been overlooked.
